Do you have written material but feel lost when it comes to turning it into a clean, professional-looking book?
In this private two-hour working session, Amina Hilton will guide you through the basic Canva formatting process using your own manuscript or book project. You’ll learn how to choose the correct book size, create your Canva document properly, create your book cover in Canva, and build a page design you can continue using after the session.
This session is designed for beginners. You don’t need advanced Canva or graphic-design experience. The goal is to help you understand the process, avoid costly formatting mistakes, and stop wasting hours rebuilding pages because the book was created at the wrong size.
During the session, you’ll learn how to:
Choose an appropriate trim size for your book
Create a Canva document using the correct dimensions
How to create a book cover and size to match your manuscript
Understand why the book size should be selected before formatting
Choose readable fonts for headings and body text
Create consistent headings, spacing, and page layouts
Keep text and images inside safe margins
Copy manuscript text into Canva
Add, duplicate, move, and organize pages
Set up page numbers when appropriate
Understand bleed versus no bleed
Review pages for consistency
Export a test interior using PDF Print
You’ll leave with:
A correctly sized Canva book file
Several properly formatted sample pages
A repeatable page design for the rest of your book
A better understanding of margins, spacing, fonts, and page structure
A test PDF you can review
Clear next steps for completing the remaining pages
This session is best for:

This is a teaching and working session, not a done-for-you book-formatting service.
A complete 100-page, 200-page, or highly complicated book will not be fully formatted during one two-hour session. We will create the correct file, build a professional page style, format several sample pages, and teach you how to continue the process yourself.
Your progress will depend on the length and condition of your manuscript, the complexity of the design, and how prepared your materials are.
What to Bring
Please have the following ready:
A laptop or desktop computer
Your manuscript or written material in PDF form
Any book-size ideas you are considering
Your preferred colors, fonts, images, or design examples
Your book title and author name, when available
A notebook for additional notes
Your manuscript should be reviewed as much as possible before formatting. Major rewriting and editing during the session will reduce the amount of formatting we can complete.
What This Session Does Not Include
Writing the full manuscript
Editing an entire book
Formatting every page of a long manuscript
Creating complex illustrations
Purchasing Canva Pro, images, fonts, or outside services
Guaranteeing that the book will pass KDP review without later corrections
Designing a complete wraparound paperback cover unless time allows (but you will be instructed on how to do so in step by step order)
Privacy and File Safety
You are responsible for keeping a backup copy of your manuscript and Canva project. Do not delete your original writing after copying it into Canva. Never send your manuscript (PDF) to anyone you
Never share passwords, banking information, tax information, identification documents, or other sensitive information during the session.
Cancellation and Rescheduling
Appointments may be rescheduled once, when notice is provided at least 48 hours before the scheduled session.
Late cancellations and missed appointments are nonrefundable. If Amina Hilton must cancel, you may select a new appointment time or receive a refund.
